Metallization of Syndiotactic Polystyrene Resin through Plasma Sputtering

Syndiotactic Polystyrene (SPS) has excellent electrical properties, and is expected to be applied high-frequency circuit boards. We made a study of the formation metal layer on smooth surface SPS resin through continuous plasma sputtering process, examined effects crystallinity addition styrene-ethylenbutylene-styrene (SEBS) peel strength. also investigated mechanism behind increased strength using FTIR analysis, XPS TEM observation EDS analysis. It was confirmed that conductive with practical formed material, which low contains right amount SEBS as result sputtering. concluded new components generated material just after treatment, existence metal-resin mixed at interface, contributed improvement
